A friend just turned me onto this Rails-based blog app. I’m going to check it out. I’m very interested in the idea of using a Rails-based blog app, since so many are limited in certain ways.

I do have to admit, though, that using TextMate and WordPress over XML/RPC is pretty easy, so I’m not sure that Typo could really simplify my blogging life much more… We’ll see, though.
So I’ve been referred to this application called Adium which is a chat program. It will handle AIM accounts, Google Chat, Jabber, and some others. I’ve been using it for about a week instead of iChat, and so far I’m pretty happy.
It’s free software, so it’s worth a shot! You may just like it.
I use a 24″ iMac. It’s at a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.
I love having my wallpaper rotate every five minutes. My favorite place for free widescreen wallpaper is, without question, Interfacelift. They have a plethora of wallpaper available, as well as free icon sets for your Mac and Windows machines. Check em out!
I’ve always noticed TextMate behaves a bit sluggishly when a project contains a good amount of remote file references. I’d much prefer to use TextMate, but end up resorting to the vim editor. I got nothing against vim, by any means, but when modifying many files for one project, it can become cumbersome.
I often enjoy trying out new software to see if it will improve my efficiency and productivity.
Currently, I develop with some very powerful tools. This article will outline the purpose of each, as well as highlight some pros and cons of the software I use for web development.
In TextMate, you can create new files by pressing Shift Apple N. You’re supposed to be able to create a new folder by pressing Control Apple G, but it straight up doesn’t work. The same happens to my friend running essentially the same system.
It seemed to take a bit of time before the skin was fully turned over, and I thought it was due to browser cache. I then cleared cache in my browser, but no luck. I opened a fresh browser that I rarely use; no luck.
