Internet Explorer 6, I’ve got your number

Don’t you love when all your IE6 preventative measures actually come to fruition? You know, after you’ve spent days and days tweaking CSS and HTML, and you finally decide to risk looking at in IE6. And when you do look at it, it’s identical to your normal browser? Don’t you just love that?

Of course, this is a very rare occurrence. Don’t get used to it.

Of course, as soon as I bring it up… needless to say it didn’t last a day for me :)

I’m counting down the days until IE6 usage gets below 10%. Maybe then, we can have a community effort to boycott that mofo. I know I’ll be doing so. It’s added cost to each job. If a client wants it, charge extra.

Good call, Lance. I’ll follow your lead on this.

It is just added cost, time consuming, and frustrating. IE 6 debuted in 2001; IE7 didn’t come out until 2006. That’s a pretty fat gap, I think.

Damn right! I’m with you on this one!

Just the other day, a colleague of mine asked me about trans png fixes for IE6. I gave him some pointers, but asked, “Why bother?”

My bro found this very same plugin!
