PUMA Project, cool potential for the future of cars

GM and Segway have gotten together to form the PUMA Project, a small, segway-based automobile.

This thing looks pretty damn cool to me, and I’m really looking forward to seeing more on this. It runs on a battery, has two main wheels, and is very similar to a Segway, which uses some gyroscopes to maintain balance.

You look at these things and wonder how the hell they don’t fall over, but people say they’re rather comfortable. Gyroscopes, huh. Pretty damn cool!

Pretty interesting. You know, have you ever stopped to look around at the cars and how they’re evolving now?

Now look back to the movies of the past that were based in the far future that everyone thought was so far fetched. We’re not that far off to be honest!

I can’t wait until we’ve got cars like in the movie Minority Report! w00t w00t!

Yeah, we’re not that far off. But where the hell is Doc Brown and the flying cars?!

Those cars from minority report are pretty cool, too. You know that all the technology in that movie was based on actual, nearly available technology?

    Yeah I think so…

They talked about it in one of those ‘making of’ shows, I think the DVD has it.
