About Me
Welcome to the home of Steve Jamesson, web developer, beer connoisseur, fairweather musician, and generally ok human being.
This site touches on some of my interests, including articles from web development to music, from dude philosophy to general rants about useless crap, from utility beer to my own personal notes. I’m often inclined to teach, so you may stumble across some useful tutorials.
Professional Web Developer
I’m an extremely versatile web developer, with skills and talents spanning most all aspects of the field, including:
- Front End Development - XHTML/CSS/Javascript
- Visual Design - Photoshop, Illustrator, and the like
- Back End Development - PHP, MySQL, and the like
- Search Engine Marketing - Google Analytics and general SEO
- User-Centered Design - Designing websites with the end user in mind!
- Productivity - Getting things done!
- Content Development - Publishing appropriate, informative, and useful content
- Content Management Systems - Drupal, Wordpress, and the like
There are probably a few more that should be listed, but why leave nothing to the imagination? The world always needs creativity and imagination, anyway!
Beer Connoisseur
I love beer! It’s not necessarily the alcohol that attracts me to beer; it’s more of the flavor and wholesomeness about it.
I’m interested in brewing my own beer at home. For one, it’s a bit cheaper, for two, I think I can find some real joy in crafting and enjoying my own special blends, and for three, why not? I need some more activities to keep me away from the computer anyway.
Fair-weather Musician
I’ve been playing music since I was a kid. We always had a piano or keyboard hanging around. I played orchestral violin in elementary school, then moved onto brass baritone in middle school. After that I got my hands on a cheap ¾ scale Stella acoustic guitar. That’s when I began to write my own songs.
Throughout my endeavors as a musician, I’ve picked up many other instruments including drums & percussion, bass guitar, upright string bass, banjo, keyboard, and charango. I do sing here and there, though I recommend you generally avoid having to deal with that!
In addition to playing instruments, I also have some good experience in the audio recording field. I used to have a small home recording studio, with plenty of instruments and toys to keep me occupied for hours.
These days, you’ll find me working with two of my closest friends, RJ and TJ. We’ve got ourselves a little bad project called bigtoe. You can check us out on this wimpy band page or on our facebook band page.
Generally OK Human Being
Even though I work with computers all day, I’m still an ok guy!
So I hope you find some useful info here, or at least get a taste of my character. If anything on this site is appealing, revolting, or otherwise of some interest, please feel free to comment!
