Only in my town would something like this happen. An Asheville girl changed her name from Jennifer to CutoutDissection.com, in hopes to dissuade animal dissections in public schools. Does this have anything to do with PETA? Yup, it certainly does.

Another widely-used phrase that has no real meaning: the term USED TO

You hear and use this one quite often. “Used to.” Have you ever really thought about it, and does it make any sense? Any readers that could explain the derivation of the phrase “used to” please fill me in and prove me wrong!

What the hell is so unlucky about the number 13, anyway?

All my life, and probably yours, the number 7 has been the lucky one. And the number 13 is always the unlucky one. Today I wonder why? Is it because 13 is a prime number? No, can’t be that. 7 is also a prime number.

The implied thank you

Some people will only give you an implied thank you. They’ll make promises and such, but they’ll never actually say the words “Thank you.”

I tend to actually use the words. Even if a thank you is implied, it never hurts to hear the words. Kinda like the whole ‘i love you’ thing. Remember Patrick Swayze in Ghost? What was it he said… ‘Ditto’? Homegirl just wanted to hear him say the words.

Vote for Democracy, but don’t vote for Obama: Votes out of spite

I don’t pay much attention to politics. This is by choice. This is by effort.

I recently heard that the people who support Hilary Clinton and are disappointed that Obama won the Democratic spot are planning on voting for McCain, simply because they wanted Hilary and don’t want Obama.
